2011 review

MTBO

The results in 2011 wasn't that good what I hoped. The year showed that I must train more to get better in physically, for example not to fall behind in mass-starts. Orienteering sometimes goes very well but sometimes not, for example Tallinn championships and European championships long.  This year I didn't have luck again in the most important start of the year - European championships sprint. I lost SFR punching system there. All in all, no perfect reces in 2011.

Foot-o

I was in quite good shape in the beginning of the spring but there wasn't many competitions because of snow. The season was modest. No fast speed in sprints and too many mistakes in longer distances. The good thing was training in Finland. All in all, no perfect reces in 2011.

Contribution for orienteering
  • 2 times volunteer course setter for trainings (13th January, 1 st December)
  • 1 time course setter fot local evening competition (16th August in Keila-Joa)
  • 2 timed helped with competition organisation (16th January, 23rd April)
  • 1 time main organiser of MTBO competition (8th October - Sügis-MTBO)
  • Wrote some articles for orienteering magazine "Orienteeruja"
  • 3 new sprint maps (Siimusti, Paalalinna, Vana-Võidu)
  • 1 map re-draw for MTBO (Kuusalu)
Concusion

I couldn't do enough trainings in June and July (different reasons). Beacuse of that the season wasn't good in physically. Orienteering was sometimes poor, so I need to do more trainings with map. I am not happy with 2011 and I am going to make it better 2012. I have been working hard since the end of October and at the moment I am getting stronger and stronger (35% more training hours in Nov and Dec compared to last year).

Some targets for 2012
  • MTBO Estonian championships: both days in TOP5 and possible fight for the medal among Estonians
  • Points from last stage of MTBO World Cup in Estonia
  • Loose less than 10% to the winner in important foot-o sprint races
  • Technical stability in orienteering (more trainings with map)
